WHAT A CRAZY WEEK THIS WEEK. I HAD BIG PLANS FOR THE WEEK WITH THE SPRING WEATHER. I NEED TO GET MY GARDEN PLANTED AND COMOPOSTED, CLEAN THE HORSE, AND PIG PENS. ON MONDAY CLAYTON AND BRITT DISAPPEARED AGAIN,(OR SO WE THOUGHT,) SO CARRIE, BENNETT, AND 5 PEOPLE FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD WERE LOOKING FOR THEM, I WAS RUNNING THROUGH ONE OF THE FIELDS NEXT DOOR, AND I LANDED ON A 3 INCH THORN FOR ONE OF THE TREES GROWING.( I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE NAME OF THEM ARE, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT.) IT WENT THROUGH MY SHOE AND INTO MY TOE. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THE TIP HAD BROKEN IN MY FOOT, SO BY THAT AFTERNOON MY TOE AND FOOT WERE SWOLLEN HUGE AND I COULD PUT ANY PRESSURE ON IT. FAST FORWARD IT HAS BEEN 3 DAYS SINCE IT HAPPENED, I HAD FINALLY REALIZED THAT SOMETHING WAS STILL IN THERE, AND DUG IT OUT, BUT WHATEVER THE POISON THAT WAS ON THE TIP IS TAKING A LONG TIME TO GO AWAY. HOPEFULLY THE SOAKING, AND GOOD OLD PINEGUM SALVE WILL CONTINUE TO DRAW THE INFECTION OUT.
AFTER OUR FRANTIC SEARCHING, JUMPING SEVERAL BARBED WIRE FENCES, THORNS THROUGH THE SHOE, AND BENNETT BEING LATE FOR WORK WE FOUND THE BOYS IN MY NEIGHBORS YARD WHERE THEY HAD BEEN PLAYING BUT THEY HAD GONE INTO THE SHED TO GET OUT OF THE WIND AND DIDN'T HEAR US CALLING THEM! I WAS JUST GLAD THAT THEY WERE SAFE AND SOUND, AND NOT SWEPT DOWN THE DITCH.(MY WORST FEAR.)
